Last Saturday, I had the honor of live-sketching guests at an awards ceremony held at the iconic Art Institute of Chicago.
The evening was black-tie - filled with elegant gowns, sharp tuxedos, and that unique creative energy that fills the museum’s historic halls. My live sketches captured the movement, fashion, and personality of the night, each drawing becoming its own little moment in ink and watercolor.
As I stood beneath the same arches that hold masterpieces from Monet to Matisse, I couldn’t help but feel inspired - channeling a touch of The Met Gala meets The Art Institute.
