Custom Invitations

I created these custom invitations for a special bridal shower! The sketch was inspired by an elegant Oscar de la Renta gown. For a personal touch, I added Big Ben in the background to my Oscar Bride as the couple met while studying abroad in London.

I designed the complete invitations with my art and placed the order through printing services. I am so excited with how they turned out! For inquires on custom design projects, please email mollyefallon@gmail.com!

PartySlate x Molly E. Fallon Props

I created custom photo props for PartySlate’s spring cocktail party, “Will You Accept this Rosé?” with special guest Jordan Kimball of the Bachelorette and Bachelor in Paradise.

This project was a blast! Fitting with the theme, I drew Rosé bottles, glasses, roses, and designer accessories for guests to pose with in pictures at the photo station. To make these props I printed my illustrations on cardstock, cut them out, and added sticks.

The photo station was a hit at the event! Guests had fun clinking illustrated wine glasses in GIFs. The red rose was perfect for Jordan and all of bachelor nation. It was so cool turn my sketches into props, stay tuned for new photo prop updates on my shop!

I am proud to be a PartySlate event partner! Check out my Event Pro profile before planning your next event.

Live Sketching at Bloomingdales

I had a blast live sketching at Bloomingdale’s biggest beauty event of the year, “The Makeup Date”! I created personalized fashion illustrations for guests while Jane Monzures of WGN TV’s “Living Healthy Chicago” delivered the scoop on the top new season beauty trends.

I brought my collection of Copic markers and used Canson multipurpose paper for my sketches. When I sketch live, I like to define lines with colored pencils. Caran d’Ache are my favorite colored pencils because they don’t smear when layering with marker or paint!

I am lucky to have sketched such a great crew on Saturday, a very special thank you to everyone who came to The Makeup Date!

Shout out to everyone at Bloomingdales and 900 North Michigan Shops who put together this amazing event. Thank you for having me! ♥️

Sketching with Dana Rebecca Designs

I had the pleasure of live sketching with Dana Rebecca Designs at their second flagship dinner this week! Dana Rebecca hosted an amazing group of women to celebrate their latest jewelry collection and her newest venture: leading the Chicago Chapter of the Female Founder Collective with Rebecca Minkoff and Eberjey.

I sketched personalized fashion illustrations for each guest on beautiful Shinola notebooks with Copic markers. Each took me about 10 minutes. Such a fun idea and keepsake from the event!

I am in love with Dana Rebecca’s jewelry designs, it was a dream working together! Be sure to check out their line here and follow the Female Founder Collective’s national campaign launch.

Thank you to Dana Rebecca and her team for having me be a part of their special evening!

Happy New Year!

Goodbye 2018! It’s been a big year, from my first fashion art show to the launch of my website… I can’t wait to see what 2019 will hold.

Here is my roundup of the best style moments of 2018:

Met Gala 2018, “Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and The Catholic Imagination”. After the ball, I had the opportunity to view the exhibit at the Met Museum. This year’s theme was my favorite to date!

The Royal Wedding of Prince Harry and American Meghan Markle. I loved seeing what the guests in attendance chose to wear for the historic occasion.

Vueve Clicquot Polo Classic in New York City. The annual event was a fun day of people watching and polo, I hope to go again in 2019!

Favorite collab: Dior’s Lady Art series. Dior enlisted an all-female lineup of artists to reinvent the brand’s iconic Lady Dior bag. I look forward to seeing creative director Maria Grazia Chiuri continue her support of female artists!

Style crush: Olivia Palermo. Year after year, OP continues her reign over the street style scene.

As we begin a new year, I want to share a few of my favorite quotes with you to keep in mind:

  • “You don't have to be great to start, but you have to start to be great”

  • “If you want to live a life you’ve never lived, you have to do things you’ve never done”

  • “Every artist was first an amateur”

  • “Life is 10% what happens to you and 90% how you respond to it”

  • “Go the extra mile, it’s never crowded”

  • “Life is short, buy the shoes”

Happy New Year!

My NYC Packing List

I am so excited to be heading to New York City this week for a couple of meetings and to visit my best friend!

I’ve always heard the city is truly magical this time of year. I can’t wait to experience New York’s holiday traditions for the first time. Please comment below with your recommendations of the best things to do in NYC during the Christmas season!

Packing tips:

First of all, consider your destination. Ask yourself: what’s the vibe of this place and what kinds of activities will you be doing there? Thinking up a mental picture helps to get your creative juices flowing. Imagine the types of outfits you envision yourself wearing there. Take it a step further and pull inspiration pictures from Instagram or Pinterest.

Bring layering pieces that you can mix and match. Pick a color story when deciding what pieces from your closet to bring so everything is cohesive. For example, I stuck with a black and white theme while putting together this list. Play with accessories such as headbands or fashion jewelry to add variety to your outfits and create more looks.

Think of ways you can dress each piece you pack up or down. To elevate your typical legging and sweatshirt uniform at the airport, add a chic leather jacket and a great bag. Comfort is key, make sure to only bring items that you feel good wearing and not those cute heels you haven’t broken in yet—this helps you to avoid blisters and overpacking!

Finally, take pictures of your head-to-toe looks to reference later. This is a major time and stress saver!

Here is a peek at what’s in my suitcase. Hope this helps as your guide for wherever your holiday travels take you!

Happy Turkey Day!

What are you wearing to Thanksgiving dinner? I’m taking notes from the Hadid family this year.

Molly E.

To mark the end of the New York collections, director Bardia Zeinali and fashion editor Jorden Bickham invited the Hadid Family, Yolanda, Gigi, Bella, and Anwar to enjoy a small dinner wearing some of the chicest looks from the week. Then the spooky stuff happened.

Welcome to the Sketchbook!

Hi, nice to meet you!

My name is Molly, I am a fashion artist. I began drawing at an early age and always knew I wanted to incorporate art into my career. In addition to my love of art, I am obsessed with fashion.

I find inspiration everywhere, from fashion bloggers and runway shows to outfits of friends and family. In my illustrations, I seek to depict my ideas on style and inspire others.

On The Sketchbook, I will be sharing all things that inspire me and behind the scenes glimpses of my work.

Can’t wait to share with you!
